- What is an MP3?
An MP3 is a compressed audio file format. This format is
about one tenth the size of an ordinary CD audio file and
with very little loss in quality. The small size makes it
more practical to transfer on the Internet.
- How do I down load an MP3?
After you login to your account, a list of clickable links
will be displayed. Once you click on the link you will be
asked to open or save the file. Save the file in a directory
you created or on your desktop.
- How can I hear the MP3 sound
files?
There are several ways to hear the files.
(a) Listen to them on the computer where they are stored.
Various programs can be used to play them. Examples are
Windows Media Player and Winamp.
(b) Download them to an MP3 player or an iPod and play them
on it.
(c) Burn an audio CD and play the CD on a regular CD player.
Software that comes with a CD burner can convert the MP3
back to the standard audio format.
(d) Burn a data CD with the files still in MP3 format and
play them on a CD or DVD player that can handle the MP3
format. About 10 hours of MP3 will fit onto one CD.
- I have a dial up internet
connection, will I be able to download the files?
It will work but it is not practical as the files are about
70 MB per hour of recording. This would take about 4-5 hours
to download. Another option is to order the recordings in
MP3 format on CD from the office. One month of Wednesday
recordings in MP3 format will fit on one CD.
- Where do I get an MP3 player?
Many computer stores carry them. In Canada: Staples, Future
Shop, Canadian Tire all carry them. The larger the memory
in them the more recordings can be stored. Eight hours fits
into 512 MB.

an MP3 CD?
There are many brands that will work, both boom box and
personal CD players. Just make sure that it specifically
mentions that it will play MP3s.
- How do I play MP3s on a
DVD player?
Many DVD players will play the MP3 format with the titles
showing on your TV and the sound playing through the TV
or your stereo system.

the files?
The letters stand for : W – Wednesday recordings,
AM – Ascended Master Class and WK – Workshop.
The numbers following are year, month and day. After that
is part number with an “a” or “b”.
The “a” and “b” designation roughly
correspond to one side of a tape and are about usually about
30 minutes long. eg. w051109_2a_title.mp3 is the first half
of the second hour of Wednesday, November 9, 2005.
